How to Book Commercial Airline in the Operator Account

Info: The Commercial Airline feature is not automatically enabled for all FlightBridge Operator accounts.  Please reach out to FlightBridge Support if you wish to have this feature enabled.

You can begin booking commercial airline several ways in FlightBridge:

Crew Activity Page

From the Requests menu, click Crew Activity and select Book Airline to or from for positioning flights. The traveler name, date and time, origin and destination airports will populate automatically based on your upcoming schedule. You can check the boxes next to additional airport nearby to include more options in your search.

Ad hoc from Book Now or Requests

For ad hoc bookings, begin by clicking Book Now Airline or select + New Airline from the Requests menu. You will then begin to type the name of the traveler and select the correct profile from the list. Purpose will default to To/From Trip and upcoming scheduled trips will appear for you to select from or to. Alternately, you can manually select your departure dates and origin / destination airports and preference settings.

Add arrival service or Add departure service - Airline

To position to or from scheduled flight duty, expand the trip, click add departure service or add arrival service, airline. Select the Book button by the name of the traveler. Traveler Name, date and time will be pre-populated; if booking on arrival, the origin airport is selected and you will enter the desired destination airport or if booking for departure, the arrival airport is selected and you will enter the desired origin airport.

Info: If the crew member you are booking for has a home base airport stored in their traveler profile, this will auto populate the Origin Airport on a Position To Booking or the Destination Airport on a Position From Booking.

Add Airline from Leg Checklist

To position to or from scheduled flight duty, select the leg from the schedule view, then click Add Commercial Airline on the appropriate checklist item.  Then select the Book button by the name of the traveler.  Traveler Name, date and time will be pre-populated; if booking on arrival, the origin airport is selected and you will enter the desired destination airport or if booking for departure, the arrival airport is selected and you will enter the desired origin airport.

Info: You also have the option to select purpose "Personal / Other" to enter your own search criteria and add a Trip Description.  This option is always available no matter how you began the booking process.

Searching for Flights and Completing the Airline Booking

After you enter your search criteria, click Search.  You will see results for all available airlines sorted by departure time as a default. You can narrow down your search to a specific airline by clicking on the carrier name or clicking only next to the name on the left nav.  You can sort by price, arrival time, duration or number of stops by clicking the Sorted By drop down box. To edit your date or origin and destination airports, click Modify.

Additional filter options on the left nav include Depart From and Arrive To airport, number of stops, departure time and arrival time.

Click on the desired flight from the list to take you to the Trip Summary page. Here you will select your Cabin type, review your itinerary, review the fare summary and click Continue Booking.  If you want to adjust your itinerary, click change flight to return to the previous page and then click modify.

Review your itinerary and enter your billing information. Full legal name (matching the ID you will use at check in), Date of Birth, and Gender are all required fields.  You can add contact information, TSA precheck, and frequent flyer information if you choose.  Enter your credit card information and choose to store the card and/or make the card preferred for this traveler. You will be prompted to enter a billing address for the credit card.  After a final review, click Complete Booking.

Once you complete your booking, you will see the confirmation on the Commercial Airline Bookings page, and you will see it on your trip listing.  Initially you will see a status of Confirmed / Not Ticketed (with the exception of Southwest) and this will be updated to ticketed usually within an hour when the status is updated by the airline.
